About Us

One mission, one house, four people who stayed.

Missão Evangélica Atus di Amor — also known as Associação Atus di Amor — works in Bairro Militar, Bissau, Guinea-Bissau, with the purpose of supporting, fostering and developing actions for the defense, uplift and maintenance of quality of life for people and the environment, through professional education and community, economic, social and environmental development.

The missionaries in charge

Neizinho, Regina, Ester and João live in Bissau and run the school, the sponsorship program and the church day to day — from morning classes to toothbrushing, from school meals to year-end parties.

Why Bissau needs this

In Bissau, over half the population lives below the poverty line. Child illiteracy reaches about 33% among children aged 6 to 11. Where the state doesn't reach, the presence of organizations like Atus di Amor sustains schooling, basic health and community. In Guinea-Bissau, Children's Day is celebrated on June 1st — one of the most important dates on the association's calendar.
